Welcome to the IntelliSource blog. This week, we are sharing with our readers a fun adventure IntelliSource recently partnered with Colorado State University-Global Campus on. Most of our readers know that at IntelliSource, we recruit, hire, manage, motivate and retain staff within Business Services and Information Technology. But did you know, we also have a talent for assisting our client’s with rather unique job requests when needed?

IntelliSource Delivers…………………. “Outside the Nest”

IntelliSource enjoys a good challenge and we like to have fun along the way too. When CSU’s-Global Campus mascot, Goldie (The Golden Eagle) needed to make an appearance at their Graduation Ceremony recently, IntelliSource “flew into action” to help out. One of our IntelliSource employees stepped up and played the part of Goldie the Golden Eagle.

What an exciting adventure! Being right in the middle of the action was a lot of fun and helped to create memories that will last a lifetime for the recent graduates of Colorado State University – Global Campus. Being a college mascot takes a tremendous amount of energy and stamina per Goldie was invited to participate in multiple photos while meeting graduates and offering congratulations within the community! IntelliSource thanks the staff at CSU-Global Campus for making this event a special one for their graduates and for their invitation for IntelliSource involvement.

CSU–Global Campus was founded in 2008 and is a 100% online, public university offering bachelor’s completion and master’s degrees. CSU–Global Campus is part of the Colorado State University System and is headquartered in Greenwood Village, CO. There are more than 2500 students currently taking classes. The university specializes in non-traditional, adult professional students and students who can’t take part in a traditional campus setting.

IntelliSource is proud to work with all of our local colleges and universities to help graduates locate career opportunities in the Denver metro area. We pride ourselves in helping our clients match qualified talent with career opportunities.

Welcome to the IntelliSource Blog. This week’s Blog explores the topic of What managers really seek from today’s employees. We understand that solid partnerships between management and employees help contribute to a positive work culture where results are evident. When businesses forget to emphasize culture, ultimately, they take a bigger risk. In other words, it’s hard for happy employees to deliver poor service as the old saying goes. At IntelliSource, we recognize that our staff plays a KEY role in driving forward motion through change, realignment, and a steady open stream of communication. Not only do we encourage our employees to impress their managers (and clients through quality results), we equally emphasize that our leaders take steps daily to keep their associates happy. A winning partnership!

“You can complain because roses have thorns,

or you can rejoice because thorns have roses.” – Ziggy

Do you provide proactive proposals if a new idea comes to mind for work? Do you remember to consider solutions along with problems that might need attention? Do you first offer others in your workplace, the benefit of the doubt before rushing to judgment?

If you do, you are already taking a big step in the right direction towards professional success. We are excited to pose these questions to get your mind thinking in new directions. At IntelliSource, we challenge our employees to improve their working relationship with the management teams they support through ACTION not just WORDS. When you consider the idea of keeping things simple for your manager, they appreciate the time savings and are more open to hear the ideas you offer. Managers are busy people who appreciate when employees communicate in shorter sentences that make their points clear and easily understandable. Do you know the true meaning of your job? Regardless of what it says on your job description, you are there to help the company grow and reach success (which also makes your boss and you look great). Start today off with a new possibility – how will these small changes in your daily routine help you and your manager at your place of employment?

Ready to Engage?

What does this statement mean to you?

Welcome to the IntelliSource Blog. This week, we are discussing what IntelliSource seeks when hiring new employees. You know by now that at IntelliSource, we believe our associates and employees are our greatest assets! We are excited when we identify and hire responsible, proactive, great thinkers who help our company grow with knowledge and ideas to move us forward. These great employees possess a large range of easy to define yet hard to find qualities that are often the benchmarks we utilize to hire. Sharing these thoughts with our BLOG readers this week.

What does IntelliSource seek when hiring?

At IntelliSource, we seek opportunities to partner with professionals who are truly interested in enjoyably engaging with our clients to complete the work we are proud to support. When we hire at IntelliSource, we are looking for potential employees who SHINE and demonstrate dedication. We believe that remarkable employees work “outside” their job description without being asked. These team members seem to always look for new ways to contribute to projects that are assigned. These professionals think quickly when under pressure and are able to prioritize tasks efficiently and effectively. Those with a “Get It Done” character (regardless of the challenges ahead) make a big impression on our teams when we hire as well. IntelliSource recognizes that employees who speak up when others are sometimes quiet often challenge us as a company to realign when necessary. We hire professionals to THINK not just DO A JOB. We are open to hearing ideas that are creative from the spirit of improvement from within. Additionally, those who praise others openly on teams assigned are always a welcome addition. A positive attitude is contagious! Finally, when an issue needs to be addressed, the employees we seek out to hire understand the importance of handling sensitive topics or challenges privately when necessary to drive a result. Trust and integrity ring high when considering new hires, do you have what it takes to be an IntelliSource Associate or Employee?

Hiring those who push the envelope and find new ways to make our processes better (internal desire drives them to contribute vs obligation) is a common characteristic for new hires as we grow. Hiring the RIGHT people at the RIGHT time to do the RIGHT jobs continues to be our focus.

Ready to Engage?

Today we are discussing professionals who work remotely and our views on telecommuting. People often ask IntelliSource, “Where are you located” and our answer is EVERYWHERE.

Welcome to the IntelliSource BLOG. Today we are discussing professionals who work remotely and our views on telecommuting. People often ask IntelliSource, “Where are you located” and our answer is EVERYWHERE. Keeping our business on track when our top performers are across the map and globe is not as big of a challenge with today’s technology including Skype, the web, mobile devices, social media, instant messaging, VOIP, video conferencing, etc. Associates who work outside of our headquarters in Denver, CO are key professionals within the company who help keep our clients happy. Our CEO didn’t plan on building IntelliSource like this; it just turned out that way based on client needs.

Colorado, Ohio, California, India, Massachusetts, Nevada and Canada and Oklahoma have one thing in common…………… an INTELLISOURCE PRESENCE

We are excited that IntelliSource employs associates from each of these locations. We are open to hiring associates across geographic locations based on their unique skills and talents. Each individual contributes to the whole of IntelliSource, regardless of location and for that, we as a company benefit from great teams. As IntelliSource grew, it was a new challenge to align and adjust learning to work together even when we were not sharing the same office space. Our associates stay in touch and work together to exceed IntelliSource goals and as a company, we benefit from the increased work day coverage (different time-zones). This strategy allows us to be open longer than a traditional 8 hour office. This additional company coverage keeps us competitive in our industry and helps when it comes to delegating company resources, software needs, and tools. Another benefit, although IntelliSource cannot always “see” the work that is being done from our remote associates, they are confident work is being done per the results speak for themselves. Not only do our associates appreciate the opportunity to work from home (gas savings, helping the environment, more time to work vs sitting in traffic, etc), people still ask us, “How do you know work is getting done if you can’t see the people doing it?” We respond that we do not confuse activity for results in our workplace. In other words, our remote teams produce because their work has to speak for itself. The benefits remote workers sometimes have is their ability to focus on the work per limited distractions which can contribute to higher work output. Our success with remote teams has been a great growing opportunity for IntelliSource.

Ready to Engage?

How does your company define and measure telecommuting performance?

Today we are discussing the importance of attracting and retaining top employees in today’s market to drive business results.

Welcome to the IntelliSource BLOG. Today we are discussing the importance of attracting and retaining top employees in today’s market to drive business results. Companies post job listing and often collect several resumes of interested candidates throughout the hiring process. However, this activity is not what IntelliSource considers SUCCESS. Quantity is not the goal for IntelliSource, our focus remains on Quality. Our clients appreciate this perspective and we believe our approach makes us unique in the industry. At IntelliSource, we believe that who you hire is often the difference between SUCCESS and FAILURE. Time and again, we recognize and appreciate the contributions our teams make toward our business objectives. We recognize that we could not do it without the hard working team of associates and employees we hire. Let’s take a closer look at how to attract and then retain top talent.

What does it take to attract top talent?

Networking is a key business skill and one that IntelliSource values. Getting to know talent in the field to identify possible resources before we need them reminds us of the old quote, “The time to fix the roof is not when it’s raining.” At IntelliSource, we seek to identify and meet professionals who get excited about the work they do. Once we have viable contacts identified and an opportunity becomes available, we like to start off by sharing information about our company culture and the “stories” behind the clients we represent. Most potential employees are not as interested in WHAT we offer but rather, WHY we do what we do. Our candidates appreciate that IntelliSource outlines why teaming with our clients can make a difference. It’s the little things that matter during our interview process such as an office tour, meeting the team early in the process and sharing how each career opportunity we present can benefit the potential employee. When it comes to the IntelliSource recruiting and interview process, we help applicants through their decision process and offer support as these career changes are being evaluated.

Retaining Talent

You can tell the health of an organization by whether it can recruit the best and brightest given the competition. At IntelliSource, we understand that in an ever more changing and complex business culture, the ability to attract, hire and retain top talent is more important than ever. IntelliSource often asks the question, “Why do people want to work here?” Recognizing that money usually isn’t a good enough reason for associates to stay for the long term. Making sure our teams get excited about working with us and learning new skills as they go is paramount. Establishing clear expectations of what each associate can learn from the company and what you expect from them helps cultivate a WIN-WIN culture inside the organization.

Ready to Engage?

What strategizes does your company utilize to attract and retain top talent?

This week we are discussing the topic of setting priorities for success within the workplace.

Welcome to the IntelliSource Blog. This week we are discussing the topic of setting priorities for success within the workplace. Staying FOCUSED in today’s busy business market is one key focus at IntelliSource. We keep our eye on exceeding company objectives and as a result, look for new ways to drive innovative processes designed to expand our footprint in the marketplace while providing quality service to the clients we support. Some people find themselves stressed or tense when they cannot manage their daily tasks at work. This frustration can quickly lead to lost productivity if working on tasks with lower priority. Let’s take a closer look at some of the strategies IntelliSource uses to set priorities for success which in turn can help you feel more satisfied with the accomplishments you have set out to reach.

Decide what you want.

Decide what you are willing to exchange for it.

Establish your priorities.

Go to work.
-H.L. Hunt

Setting Clear Objectives:

IntelliSource recommends starting each day with a clear list of set objectives you want to reach by close of business. This priorities list should have clear direction. We suggest activities that are prioritized by NEED TO DO, SHOULD DO, and NICE TO DO categories for example. Each morning, write down goals for the day and each category this task belongs to. Next, ask yourself, which 3 objectives are the top priority and make sure those get done first. Setting priorities is one key to getting organized and making the most of your time at work. Refer to your priorities list throughout your day, put it on your desk to serve as a reminder to stay on track.

Simplify

If you find yourself writing down more than 3 top priorities each day in the NEED TO DO section of your priorities list, regroup and reevaluate. Once you have completed your NEED TO DO goals, move to the next category on your list. Goals are important and human nature means that we instinctively act on tasks that are urgent each day which will drive you to focus on the priorities you have set. An organized day helps keep your “tasks on task” and helps you work smarter not harder for optimal results in the workplace. Setting priorities involves achieving a balance between accomplishing daily tasks and working towards reaching long-term goals. Find a system that works for you.

Ready to Engage?

What method do you use for prioritizing at work?

Welcome to the IntelliSource Blog. This week we are taking a look at Employee Retention. In today’s competitive market, some companies are evaluating staff turnover and determining opportunities to create work cultures that inspire employees. However, the goal is to not only inspire employees to stay with one company longer but to also encourage them to serve as contributions to the growth and success of the companies they represent. At IntelliSource, we recognize that HIRING employees is a start to creating a strong work force. Next, we evaluate how to KEEP those associates long after hire. It’s no secret that high employee turnover costs companies time and productivity. At IntelliSource, we agree with the statement made by Simon Sinke when he said, “If you hire people just because they can do a job – they’ll work for just the money. But if you hire people who believe what you believe, they’ll work for you with blood, sweat, and tears because they believe in your company vision.” Let’s take a closer look at Employee Retention and some strategies for keeping key contributors within an organization.

The Cost of Employee Turnover:

Employee turnover is one of the largest costs companies face each year. However, it is also often one of the least tracked. How serious does your company take the “Exit Interview” currently? Companies routinely record and report costs such as wages and benefits, Workman’s Compensation Insurance, materials, training budgets, and office space yet most companies do not have a strong understanding of the costs associated with employee turnover. If they did, more organizations would create programs or processes to learn from viable mistakes separating true areas of opportunity based on the feedback provided. Employee turnover costs are higher than you may think. Some of the affected areas include lost productivity & sales, new hire training & recruitment time, and lost expertise, etc. Employee ideas, suggestions, and small changes that can create a culture where employees want to continue to work for the same company are programs designed to not view the Exit Interview as routine but as an exploratory evaluation of where to realign going forward.

Your #1 Asset – Your Staff

At IntelliSource, we believe our associates and employees are our #1 asset and treat them in a way that cultivates open communication where we remind out staff to have fun along the way. Gauging employee feedback and determining realignments where needed is a routine at our company. Hosting multiple team activities and keeping the staff “in the know” with regard to where the company stands in the big picture helps our associates “buy in” to the initiatives and goals we have set for 2012. Our associates serve as an ambassador to the company and therefore, their opinion counts. At IntelliSource, we evaluate employee turnover and foster an open culture that drives improvements.

Ready to Engage?

What do you believe companies can do to encourage employees to stay?

On February 20th Ryan transitioned from on-site at a large client site to the IntelliSource Back Office Operations (Boo) team. He joined IntelliSource as a Financial Analyst. Ryan is getting his grounding by working with payroll, invoicing, HR and finance functions within the organization. He is excited to gain an understanding of how internal software and databases work which will allow him to decipher the best way to extract and compile data so that it can be organized and interpreted in a meaningful way. Ryan will be working extensively to develop reporting for internal and external customers. We are excited to have Ryan as part of this new team! Outside of work, Ryan has a passion for reading and debating philosophy and online video games. In the year ahead, Ryan hopes to continue his career growth with IntelliSource. He is very excited for the future and we are happy to have him on the team.
