The people who help your business run and who make you a leader should be valued and rewarded for their hard work. Their Emotional and Mental health is vital to maintain, and there are several ways that you, as a leader, can help with creating positivity.
1. Be Transparent and Honest
Honesty is always the best policy and making sure you avoid any unnecessary confusion through being truthful about your intentions and ideas will help you connect with your people. Trust is the foundation of all relationships and requires honesty and integrity.
2. Be Understanding
Make sure you talk to your employees to understand where they are at both professionally and emotionally. Being available to talk and listen to what your people are going through while being open to their feelings and ideas will help you with creating that trust and establishing a great connection going forward.
3. Help Your People to Grow
Finding what your employees care about and helping them to grow their skills and careers is one of the most rewarding parts about being a leader. You will not know what to help your people with if you do not ask. Make sure you are helping to craft their skills and sharpen their ideas of success by giving them guidance on what is needed to take the next step to where they want to be
4. Small actions can create big ripples
It’s the little things that count the most. When you generate positivity through your efforts, people take notice and trust grows. Simple things like remembering someone’s birthday or anniversary or saying thank you after a job well done can show others you care beyond the workplace. Even something as small as being available to talk can change someone’s day. You may never know how your small action can hugely impact someone else’s life.
